Active nematic flows confined in a two-dimensional channel with hybrid alignment at the walls: A unified picture

چکیده

We study active nematic fluids confined in narrow channels with a conflicting anchoring at the walls. In this configuration flows are sustained even zero activity limit. use numerical approach to span wide portion of parameter space and provide unified picture system beyond limiting regime explored previously, which stresses key role played by flow aligning parameter. also show that solutions depend on two dimensionless parameters present examples biaxial values for they observed.

Hybrid free-surface flows in a two-dimensional channel.

Hybrid free-surface flows past disturbances in a two-dimensional channel are identified and studied. The fluid is assumed to be inviscid and incompressible, and the flow to be steady and irrotational. The disturbances consist of a step in the bottom of the channel and a flat object lying on the free-surface (e.g., a sluice gate). A weakly nonlinear one-dimensional analysis is used to classify t...

Two-Dimensional Flow Analysis of Nanofluid through a Porous Channel with Suction/Injection at Slowly Expanding/Contracting Walls using Variation of Parameter Method

In this work, variation of parameter method is applied to study two-dimensional flow of nanofluid in a porous channel through slowly deforming walls with suction or injection. The results of the developed approximate analytical solution using the variation of parameter method is verified with the results of numerical solution using fourth-order Runge-Kutta method coupled with shooing techniques...
